“I am overweight, and seem to continually gain a few pounds every year. At the rate I’ve been gaining, I will soon be in the obese range. My husband is very frustrated about my size. He seems embarrassed to introduce me to his friends/co-workers, and I feel sometimes like he wishes he’d never married me. I know he would love me more if I was thinner, but instead of this being an incentive to me to lose the weight, it only makes me want to eat more. Why is this? What can I do to break the cycle?”
