I am 5′ 5″ and I weigh *** pounds. I know I am underweight and I experience all the danger signs that I am underweight. I exercise too much and don’t eat enough calories for my active lifestyle. Who should I talk to? My husband and family are worried but they don’t know what to do either. They say “eat” but it’s not that easy. I can’t just “eat”. Please help! – catherine
Dear Catherine,
I am impressed that you are aware and concerned about your eating. You’re right that changing our weird relationship with eating is not simple. You need to have a whole toolbox of tools to help you make this change. You can start by connecting with some of the links on this website such as our books section that can help your husband and family learn what’s helpful to you in your efforts to change. Constance’s book “Life Inside the Thin Cage” explains how she began her journey and how important finding someone to talk to was on her journey. I also suggest checking out our Lasting Freedom online support program where you can connect with others who have been where you are. You deserve to make yourself a priority and give yourself the time it will take to begin to “grow” that toolbox. You can do it!
