Courage: A Poem

Courage is standing in front of the mirror and saying …

ED, I don’t care what you think of me.

I am not your perfect mold but I choose to love me.

II’ll stand up against all odds and won’t back down.

I choose to take a stand for who I am.

Though the journey may be hard and I may be on guard.

I choose to walk even though I may fall down.

And choose to open that lock to be free.

And choose to be me instead of someone else.
